19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid period, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.

This represents the player's first title following the Italian tournament and first on a hard court after March of 2023.

Victory also means the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct events.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six finals, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's counter-punching approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to question if his skill to play at the elite level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to push for a third set.

The opponent rescued four initial chances in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
